Oprah Vs. Trump 2020 – This Poll Shows Who Will Win

The latest Rasmussen poll says that Oprah Winfrey would win the 2020 presidential election against Donald Trump if it were held today.

The report, released on Wednesday, noted that Winfrey would beat Trump by 10 points in a hypothetical matchup, noting that 22 percent of Republicans would vote for Winfrey over Trump.

By the Numbers

  • Winfrey would earn 48 percent of the hypothetical vote, compared to 38 percent for Trump.
  • Approximately 14 percent of respondents were undecided.
  • 52 percent of women said they would vote for Winfrey, while 34 percent said they would vote for Trump.
  • 66 percent of Republicans would choose Trump, while 22 percent would vote for Winfrey; 12 percent said they were undecided.
  • 76 percent of Democrats would choose Winfrey, while 12 percent would vote for Trump; 12 percent said they were undecided.
  • Winfrey would clinch the independent vote, as 44 percent would vote for the media mogul and 38 percent would vote for Trump.
  • The results were tallied from a sampling of 1,000 U.S. voters on Monday and Tuesday, the days immediately following Winfrey’s viral, politically charged Golden Globes speech.
  • The poll has a margin of error of 3 percentage points.

Is Winfrey Actually Going to Run?

The jury is out on that one. Winfrey has, in the past, said that it was off the table, but as of late, sources purportedly close to Winfrey have said that the billionaire media mogul is “actively thinking” about a presidential bid.

Has Trump Talked About a Winfrey/Trump Matchup?

Trump on Tuesday told reporters gathered for a meeting in the Cabinet Room that he’d defeat Winfrey in a 2020 matchup if she decided to run.

“Yeah, I’ll beat Oprah,” Trump said. “I like Oprah, I don’t think she’s going to run. I don’t think she’s going to run.”
