Trump has acted faster than any incumbent president in American history, raising millions of dollars towards his bid for a second term – and he’s only been in office for a few months!
According to Reports filed with the Federal Election Commission, Trump’s campaign got him $7.1 million during his first three months in office, while over $23 million was raised by the Republican Party.
By contrast, the Democratic National Committee and former President Barack Obama only brought in about $15 million during the first three months of his first term in 2009.
It was revealed that majority of Trump’s donors didn’t give much while the large checks came from wealthy Republicans.
Trump is heavily relying on the donors to pull in more cash aside his money. Trump’s campaign committee has spent $6.3 million from January through March, including $1.2 million on merchandise and “Make America Great Again” hats, sales of which helped his fund-raising.
Where does this news leave the Democrats?
